Refuse Collection

Valley Waste Service, the Borough’s contracted refuse provider, provides weekly refuse collection. Refuse collection is either on Thursday or Friday. Please contact Valley Waste Service, 724-843-9373, if you are not sure which day your pick-up is.  Prior to pickup during the week, garbage shall be stored behind the house in leak proof containers with tight fitting lids. Garbage cannot be placed on the curb for collection earlier than 7:30 PM the evening before your scheduled pick-up.

All waste must be placed inside a heavy duty garbage bag.  In addition to solid waste, grass clippings, weeds, and garden materials (no dirt) are permitted.  Additionally, fireplace, wood burner, and coal ashes are also collected.  Dried, solidified paint in an open can is also permitted.

There will be no refuse collection on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  If one of these holidays falls on a Monday through Friday, collection that week will be one day later.  If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no change in collection.

The Borough of Rochester does not provide a curbside recycling program.  Residents or merchants that wish to recycle are encouraged to utilize the Beaver County Recylcing Center located off of Route 51 in Brady’s Run Park.  Accepted materials and hours of operation can be found on the Beaver County Department of Waste Management website or by calling (724) 770-2064.
